Alongside the Redmi 9A, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has also unveiled its budget Redmi 9C smartphone. The Redmi 9C is an entry-level Android smartphone with a large 5,000mAh battery and a MediaTek Helio G35 processor. The device has been launched in Malaysia and we can expect it to be made available to the rest of the regions in the near future. The Redmi 9C is kept at an asking price of RM 429, which roughly translates to somewhere around $100 or around INR 7,560. The device will go on sale in Malaysia (via Lazada) sometime later in July.

Speaking of the specifications of the device, the Redmi 9C sports a 6.53-inch HD+ Dot Drop display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 1,600 x 720 pixels resolution. At the front, the Redmi 9C comes with a 5MP selfie snapper, while at the back, it has a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 13MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Furthermore, the Redmi 9C has a rear-mounted physical fingerprint scanner.
Powering the Redmi 9C is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 processor, which is clocked at 2.3GHz and is coupled with an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. The internal storage of the device has scope for further expansion by up to 512GB with the help of an external SD card. Coming to the software, the Redmi 9C boots Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box and can be upgraded to MIUI 12. Moving on to the battery of the device, the Redmi 9C flaunts a large 5,000mAh battery. Connectivity features of the Redmi 9C include Dual SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and GLONASS.
