Redmi has launched its first A-series smartphone in India. The company has launched the Redmi A1, which is an entry-level offering. The Redmi A1 is being offered as the first smartphone for those who want to experience the Android mobile operating system and upgrade from a feature phone. It comes with an HD+ display. The phone also packs a beefy battery under the hood.

For the processor, Redmi has opted for an entry-level MediaTek chipset. The phone also sports a dual-camera setup on the back. Let’s take a look at the Redmi A1 price in India, specifications and other details.

The Redmi A1 has been launched with a single storage option. The phone’s sole variant with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 6,499. It comes in three colours – Black, Green and Blue.

Redmi’s new entry-level smartphone under Rs 10,000 goes on sale starting September 9 via Mi.com, Mi Home Stores, Amazon India, etc.

In terms of specifications, the A1 comes with a fairly tall 6.52-inch LCD. The phone has an HD+ resolution and a tiny waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera. Since it is an entry-level offering, the phone has a standard 60Hz refresh rate support.

The device comes with a leather texture design on the back. Under the hood, there is a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC. It packs 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The A1 4G also offers support for storage expansion via a microSD card. It packs a 5000 mAh battery and offers 10W charging support.

Redmi A1 has a dual camera setup, 8MP on the rear and 5MP on the front. It runs Android 12 (Go Edition) out of the box. The phone is among the very few offerings from Redmi to come without any layer of MIUI on top of Android.
