Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has launched a new budget smartphone in India. The company has launched the Redmi A1+, which is the second smartphone in the new A1 series. The A1+ sits above the A1, which was launched a few weeks ago in India. The most noticeable difference between the two phones is the addition of the fingerprint scanner on the Plus model.
Redmi A1-series is targeted towards those who want an affordable smartphone experience. The phone comes with a MediaTek processor under the hood. It also features a dual-camera setup on the back. Let’s take a look at the Redmi A1+ price in India, specifications and other details.
Redmi A1+ Price in India and Specifications
Xiaomi has launched the Redmi A1+ in India with two storage options. The phone’s base model has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It is priced at Rs 7,499. The 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 8,499. The device will be available for purchase in three colours – Green, Blue and Black.
As part of the Diwali sale, customers can purchase the A1+ 2GB RAM variant for Rs 6,999. The 3GB RAM variant, on the other hand, can be bought for Rs 7,999. The offer price is valid till October 31. The A1+ goes on sale starting October 17 via Mi.com, Mi Home Stores, Flipkart and retail partners.
In terms of specifications, the A1+ features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on the back, which is missing in the standard model. The phone has a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. Since it is a budget phone, the A1+ has support for a standard 60Hz refresh rate. It also has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a water-drop notch at the top for the front camera.
Under the hood, the A1+ has a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC. It features up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is support for storage expansion up to 512GB via a microSD card.
The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support. It has a dual-camera setup on the back with an 8MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the A1+ has an 8MP front camera. Lastly, the phone runs Android 12 (Go Edition) out of the box.
