Xiaomi launched the Redmi A1 smartphone in India last year. The Redmi A1 is an entry-level handset from Xiaomi that comes with a 6.52-inch display, Helio A22 chipset, 3GB RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery. We are aware of the fact that the Redmi A1 smartphone is getting a successor soon in the form of the Redmi A2. A few days back the specifications and renders of the Redmi A2 were leaked courtesy of WinFuture. Now, ahead of the official launch, the Redmi A2 has received the NBTC certification.
Redmi A2 Receives NBTC Certification
The NBTC certification reveals the model number of the device as 23028RN4DG. Additionally, the certification confirms the moniker as Redmi A2. Apart from the model number and moniker information, no other details of the device are revealed by the NBTC certification. If the past leaks are to be considered, the upcoming Redmi A2 smartphone will feature a 6.52-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ 1600 x 720 pixels resolution. The device will have a water-drop-shaped notch that will house the selfie camera.

Redmi A2 Specifications (Expected)
Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by a Helio G36 processor. It will pack 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The handset will also have microSD card support which will allow storage expansion up to 512GB. As for the optics purpose, the device will have a dual-camera setup. The camera module will include an 8MP primary camera which will support 1080p video recording. Accompanying the 8MP camera there will be a 2MP depth sensor. The device will feature a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video-calling purpose.
The phone is tipped to pack a 5,000mAh battery which will support 10W charging. The handset will run Android 13 (Go Edition) out of the box. Furthermore, the device will have a single speaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0 support, a dual-SIM card slot, and a microUSB port. The device will debut in Europe in three colour options – Black, Blue, and Green. As for the pricing the handset is tipped to launch for around EUR 97 (roughly Rs 8,600) for the 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant.
As of now, Xiaomi has not revealed the Redmi A2 launch date yet. However, now that the phone has started appearing on the certification website, we can expect the Redmi A2 launch to happen in the coming few weeks.
