Xiaomi has launched the A2 series in India. The company has launched two smartphones as part of its entry-level smartphone series. There is the Redmi A2, which is the company’s most affordable smartphone in India. Xiaomi has also launched the A2+ alongside the vanilla model. Both devices were launched earlier this year in Europe. Xiaomi has now launched the A2 series in India with the same set of hardware under the hood.

The A2 series features budget smartphone specifications. The A2+ differentiates itself from the vanilla model with a fingerprint scanner on the back. Let’s take a look at the Redmi A2, A2+ price in India, specifications and features.


Redmi A2 Series Price in India and Specifications

The Redmi A2 has been launched with multiple RAM and storage options. The base model offers 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It is priced at Rs 5,999. There is also a 2GB + 64GB variant, which is priced at Rs 6,499. Lastly, the 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of storage is priced at Rs 7,499. The price is inclusive of the Rs 500 instant discount on ICICI Bank cards.

The A2+, on the other hand, has been launched in a single storage configuration. The phone offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It is priced at Rs 8,499. Both devices come with two years of warranty. The A2 and A2+ go on sale from May 23 via Amazon, Mi online and offline stores.

In terms of specifications, the A2 and A2+ feature a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. There is a tiny waterdrop notch at the top for the display of the front camera. The screen refreshes at 60Hz and comes with fairly narrow bezels.

The phones have a faux leather finish on the back. They have been launched in Sea Green, Aqua Blue and Classic Black colour options. The devices are also said to offer a scratch-resistant display and a splash-resistant body. 

Both phones offer dual SIM support and feature a dedicated slot for the microSD card. Both phones feature a MediaTek Helio G36 SoC under the hood. They feature up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

On the back, the phones feature a dual-camera setup. There is an 8MP primary camera and a QVGA lens. The A2 series also comes with a 5MP front camera for selfies.

Xiaomi has packed a 5000mAh battery in the A2 series. The devices offer 10W charging support. There is a micro-USB port at the bottom, next to which is a 3.5mm headphone jack. The devices offer up to 3GB of virtual RAM support, a stock Android 13 experience and come with an FM radio app as well.
