Up until now, the Redmi Go was available to purchase only through flash sales. However, Xiaomi has just announced that starting from today; the Redmi Go will be available in an open sale manner, meaning that you won’t have to wait for a flash sale to buy the Redmi Go; you can purchase it 24×7 whenever you want. According to Xiaomi, you can grab the Redmi Go in open sale from Mi online store, Flipkart, and Mi Home in your local areas.
People Now Have A Choice
Many people who wanted to get the Redmi Go couldn’t get their hands on one as the device was available only through flash sales. And therefore, they had to consider the readily-available Nokia 1, which is also an Android Go smartphone. However, now that the Redmi Go is available in an open sale, people can freely choose between the two devices. The Redmi Go is available for INR 4,499, and the Nokia 1 is available for INR 3,999. The question is, which one should you go for now? The Redmi Go or the Nokia 1? Let’s find out.
Redmi Go vs. Nokia 1
Let’s start with the processing power. The Redmi Go features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, whereas, the Nokia 1 features the MediaTek MT6737M SoC. Both chipsets have four CPU cores, but the Snapdragon 425 performs better as it has a higher clock speed. The Snapdragon 425 also has a more powerful GPU compared to the MediaTek MT6737M. Therefore, in terms of processing power, the Redmi Go beats the Nokia 1 hands down.
Coming to the display, the Redmi Go offers a 5-inch screen with HD resolution, whereas, the Nokia 1 has a 4.5-inch screen with WXVGA resolution. The display of the Redmi Go is not only larger, but it is also sharper than that of the Nokia 1. Because of these two factors, the Redmi Go offers a better viewing experience compared to the Nokia 1. And therefore, the Redmi Go wins here too.
Moving on to the imaging, the Redmi Go comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera, whereas, the Nokia 1 comes with a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. As both cameras of the Redmi Go have a higher resolution than that of the Nokia 1, they should offer a better image quality. So, for imaging, the Redmi Go is a better device.
In terms of battery capacity, the Redmi Go has a 3000mAh battery, whereas, the Nokia 1 has a 2150mAh battery. Due to the larger battery capacity, the Redmi Go offers a better battery backup. Another defeat for Nokia here
As you can see, the Redmi Go is better than the Nokia 1 in every aspect, and that too by a considerable margin. Even though the Redmi Go is INR 500 costlier than the Nokia 1, I think you should buy it because it justifies that extra price.
