Xiaomi wanted to give a new dimension to the “Flagship Killer” title in the smartphones realm with the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro smartphones that got launched back in the month of May this year. Needless to say, the Redmi K20 series has created a lot of buzz ever since it has got launched. Now, the series has achieved yet another milestone – it has sold over 45 lakh units globally.
Xiaomi has sold more than 45 lakh units of the Redmi K20 lineup of smartphones globally
Now since the successor to the Redmi K20 series has finally got announced, it only made sense that the company informed us as to how its predecessor has performed so far and, needless to say, it has performed more than decent. With more than 45 lakh units of the Redmi K20 series sold already (and still counting), it is safe to say that the lineup has been pretty successful. Especially the Pro variant, the Redmi K20 Pro has caught all the way more attention amongst the interested buyers.
Both the devices in the lineup offered pretty decent specifications at some pretty compelling prices. The Redmi K20 featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset which was not seen much in the smartphones in the price range it was being offered at. The Redmi K20 Pro took things a bit more to the flagships zone with the then flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset.
Post the initial launch, both the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro have received several price cuts both in China and in India which has increased the sales all the way further.
It only makes sense that the company would want to capitalize on the success the Redmi K20 series has got and try to do the same with the Redmi K30 series (only the standard Redmi K30 smartphone has got launched so far).
Speaking of the Redmi K30, the device comes in both 5G and 4G variants. The 5G variant of the Redmi K30 is kept at an asking price of CNY 1,999 for the 6GB/6GB memory configuration which, once again, is a pretty compelling price. The device features a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with dual punch-hole camera setup and a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G chipset, up to 8GB of RAM (as of now), up to 256GB of internal storage (expandable), a quad rear camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor being the primary unit, and a 4,500mAh battery which supports up to 30W of fast charging.
