
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has finally taken the wraps off its latest mid-range 5G smartphone, dubbed the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition. The Redmi K30 Extreme Edition packs in the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G processor, which is Qualcomm’s latest offering in the mid-range 5G chipset ecosystem. Other than the processor and a new color scheme, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition has the same specifications as the Redmi K30 5G, which comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. Redmi K30 Extreme Edition: price and availability
The Redmi K30 Extreme Edition is introduced in a single memory configuration, which has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device is available for reservation in China and is priced at CNY 2,000, which roughly translates to somewhere around $280. So far, the company has not revealed anything about the global launch of the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition.

Starting with the display of the device, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,080 x 2,400 pixel resolution, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Also, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition is HDR10 certified. Since the display is an IPS LCD, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition makes room for a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which also doubles as a power button. The device measures 165.3 x 76.6 x 7.99mm and weighs in at 208 grams. The company has given the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition a new Mint Green paint job. That being said, the color variants that the standard Redmi K30 has are there too, giving you more to choose from.
Under the hood, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G processor, which is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The internal storage has scope for expansion up to 512GB, by the way. As far as the OS is concerned, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition boots Android 10 OS out of the box with the company’s in-house MIUI 11 skin baked atop it.
For the photography enthusiasts out there, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition features a quadruple rear camera setup, which includes a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro lens. At the front, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition has a 20MP selfie shooter and a 2MP secondary camera. The device features a pill-shaped cutout for the two front cameras.

Connectivity features of the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition include a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio, 5G SA/ NSA (Optional) / Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, Dual-frequency (L1+L5), GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, USB Type-C charging port. Speaking of charging, the Redmi K30 Extreme Edition sports a 4,500mAh battery with scope for up to 30W fast charging.
