Redmi’s upcoming gaming phone is in the news from the last couple of weeks. A few days ago, Redmi officially confirmed that it’s first gaming handset will launch in April itself. Now, the company has confirmed the launch date and the name of its first gaming phone. Redmi will be launching its first gaming smartphone, the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition officially in China on April 27th. While confirming the launch date of this upcoming handset, Redmi has even revealed the design of this upcoming device. The teaser image shared by Redmi reveals that the phone will have a triple rear-facing camera, and LED lights around the camera module. Let’s check more details on this ahead:

Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition Set To Launch on April 27

While confirming the launch of this new handset, the company has officially even revealed the name of this handset as mentioned above. Redmi’s first gaming smartphone will be named as the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. The company has mentioned on Weibo that this upcoming device will offer hardcore gaming and flagship performance. In addition to this, Redmi has also mentioned in its Weibo post that the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will be thin and offer a light body design. The teaser shared by the company even reveals that this upcoming handset will have gaming shoulder buttons similar to the Black Shark 4 series, and a triple rear-facing camera. The rear-facing camera module even has a LED lights around it, if we go by the image outed by Redmi. The phone will have a punch-hole display.

As far as the specs of this upcoming smartphone go, it is expected to sport an AMOLED E4 display. The screen is supposed to offer support for up to 144Hz refresh rate. Powering the device under the hood could be MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 SoC. In terms of optics, the smartphone will feature a triple camera setup. The device could incorporate a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary camera sensor. The details of the front camera the phone will include remains to be unknown as of now.

A few days ago, the Redmi K40 Enhanced Edition even passed the 3C certification in China. As per the 3C listing, this upcoming device that carries model numbers as M2104K10AC and M2012K10C will have a 67W wired fast-charging support. Connectivity-wise, the device will offer 5G support. The phone was listed on the certification website with the charger model number as MDY-12-EF. This is the same charger that Xiaomi has bundled in for its Mi 11 series smartphones. In the 3C certification, a new Redmi phone was even listed with a model number as M2103K19C. This handset is expected to offer a 22.5W fast charging support. As the days pass, we should learn more details of this upcoming handset if it appears on TENAA or other benchmarks ahead of its official launch.
