Xiaomi has launched the latest Redmi K40 series at an event in China today. The latest series of smartphones from Xiaomi has a lot to offer. From top-of-the-line cameras to powerful chipsets, fans have a lot to look forward to from the Redmi K40 series. The devices have only launched in China as of now. However, it is being speculated that it will be available in other parts of the world under the POCO brand. Xiaomi is yet to speak about the device’s availability outside of China. Here are the complete specification, price, and features of the Redmi K40 series.

Redmi K40 series: Price

The Redmi K40 starts at CNY 1,999 (around Rs 22,460) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256Gb storage versions are available at CNY 2,199, (around Rs 24,710) and CNY 2,499 (around Rs 28,090) respectively.

The Redmi K40 Pro starts at CNY 2,799 (around Rs 31,460) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256Gb storage versions are available at CNY 2,999 (around Rs 33,710) and CNY 3,299 (around Rs 37,080) respectively.

The Redmi K40 Pro+ will be available at CNY 3,699 (around Rs 41,570).

Redmi K40 Series: Specifications and features

The Redmi K40 series is available in three variants, the Redmi K40, K40 Pro, and K40 Pro+. All of the devices pack the same 6.67-inch AMOLED E4 TrueTone display by Samsung which has 1,300 nits peak brightness and 360Hz touch sampling rate. Notably, the panel supports both HDR 10+ and 120Hz refresh rates. The punch-hole display is being marketed as one of the smallest in the world, resembling the size of a sesame seed at 2mm.

The differences between the devices lie in the processor and camera department. The base variant features the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. On the other hand, the Pro variants have the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset under the hood. Dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos surround sound, Wi-Fi 6 support, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 is common to all devices.

Speaking of the camera, there are quite a few differences in this department. Let’s talk about the common aspects first. All the devices feature 5MP and 8MP secondary sensors. However, the Redmi K40 has a 48MP AI primary camera while the K40 Pro has a 64MP Sony IMX686 camera. Finally, the Redmi K40 Pro+ has a 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor. The devices have a 4,520mAh battery and come in Bright Black, Dreamland, Sunny Snow color variants. All the devices run on Android 11 out of the box.
