Redmi K40 Specs Leaked on Geekbench Ahead of Feb 25 Launch: Snapdragon 870, 8GB RAM and More

Redmi is all set to announce the Redmi K40 series devices, the vanilla Redmi K40 model, and the Redmi K40 Pro smartphones on February 25th. The company has started teasing few aspects of this upcoming smartphone, and it has already confirmed Snapdragon 888 SoC, 120Hz E4 OLED display, and Wi-Fi 6 for the K40 Pro. These devices passed the required TENAA certification in China lately. Now, the base K40 model has appeared in the Geekbench database which reveals few hardware specifications. If we go by the Geekbench listing, we can see that the Redmi K40 carries the model number as M2012K11AC. The smartphone packs an octa-core Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is aided with 8GB RAM. According to Geekbench, the phone might run Android 11 out of the box. It has managed to score 1016 points in the single-core test and 3332 in the multi-core test, respectively. As far as the detailed specs of the K40 go, it is expected to feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset is said to have a punch-hole cutout at the center for housing the selfie camera.

Dimensions-wise, both the Redmi K40, and the K40 Pro are supposed to measure at around 163.7×76.4×7.8mm. Both these devices are expected to pack a 4420mAh battery that might offer 33W fast charging, as revealed by a previous 3C listing. As far as the imaging aspect of the phone goes, it is rumored to feature a quad-camera setup that might consist of a 108MP primary main camera, while the other three sensors could be of 8MP, 5MP, and 2MP.

Connectivity-wise, the K40 is expected to have 5G support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
