
Xiaomi launched the Redmi K30S smartphone in China as the rebadged version of the Xiaomi Mi 10T last year. The unveiled the Xiaomi 11T and the Xiaomi 11T in the global markets in September. It was believed that Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 11T as a rebranded Redmi K40S in the Chinese market. However, as per the report by Mydrivers, the Redmi General Manager has confirmed that there won’t be the Redmi K40S, and the company is prepping up the Redmi K50 lineup.
Xiaomi Prepping Up For the Redmi K50 Series, Redmi K40S Cancelled
Additionally, apart from the Mydrivers report, the tipster Digital Chat Station claims that the Redmi K40S hasn’t appeared at Chinese certification sites, which no doubt indicates the device is cancelled. Furthermore, the tipster adds that the Redmi K40S would not have been as good as the company’s upcoming Snapdragon 870 powered flagships. It is said that Xiaomi will launch the Snapdragon 870 powered smartphone in the Xiaomi branding, while the other device could be last in the Redmi K40 series from the company. The tipster believes that Xiaomi is currently prepping up for the Xiaomi 12 lineup and Redmi K50 series.
