Redmi K50 Extreme Edition has been launched in China. The K50 Extreme Edition is the fourth smartphone in the series after the vanilla K50, K50 Pro and the K50 Gaming Edition. The K50 Extreme Edition packs the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset under the hood, the first in the series. Xiaomi has also launched the phone with premium hardware.

The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition has been launched in China in four storage options. Its base variant offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This variant is priced at CNY 2999 (roughly Rs 35,400). There is also an 8GB + 256GB variant, which is priced at CNY 32999 (roughly Rs 38,900). Redmi has also launched the phone in 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB storage options for CNY 3,599 (roughly Rs 42,500) and CNY 3999 (roughly Rs 47,200).


In terms of specifications, the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition packs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood. It has up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of internal storage. There is no microSD card support, in case you were wondering. The phone also packs a 5000 mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging out of the box.

There is a triple-camera setup on the back. The K50 Extreme Edition features a 108MP Samsung HM6 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, there is a 20MP front camera sensor.

The K50 Extreme Edition also sports a 6.67-inch 1.5K resolution AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate support. The phone supports Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6E, NFC, etc. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner and AI face unlock support. The phone runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box.
