The Redmi K50 series is expected to launch in the near future. A previous report has already shed light to the claim that the upcoming smartphone series from the Xiaomi stable will have as many as four variants, and each of them may have different models catering to various regions. Now, a new report via Chinese social media platform Weibo has offered a bunch of very specific claims in terms of the lineup balance, as well as the features that could be expected.

According to the new report, the Redmi K50 series may not feature a K50 SE variant at the base of the range. However, the more premium ranges are expected to stand out. The Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is expected to be a higher offering in the series, and may feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC inside. Another variant may also feature the Dimensity 7000, while a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is expected to be available as well.

Furthermore, 64MP primary cameras are expected to be ubiquitous across the range, with either the Samsung Isocell GW3 or the Sony IMX686 image sensors being used in the primary cameras on the Redmi K50 smartphones across the range. The report also claims that the range will use E5 LTPO display panels, with the best of the devices in the series potentially offering Quad HD+ screen resolutions.

In terms of battery life, the Redmi K50 series is tipped to offer 5,000mAh batteries with up to 120W fast charging. Previous reports have suggested that the Dimensity 9000 SoC powered Redmi K50 phone may feature a 120Hz or 144Hz LTPO OLED display, along with optical under-display fingerprint sensors, quad rear camera setup with a potential upgrade to a 108MP unit with the primary unit, and more.

While the range was initially tipped to launch by December 2021, many reports have now claimed that the launch date may have been delayed. Nevertheless, the series is expected to debut by the first half of 2022, and will likely come to India as well by then.
