Redmi K50 Pro+ May Feature Upcoming Snapdragon 898, 108MP Camera

Let’s take a look at the Redmi K50 Pro+ specifications, features and other leaked details.

Xiaomi launched a bunch of smartphones under the Redmi K40 series in China earlier this year. Some of the devices launched in India under the Mi 11X series, whereas the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition arrived as the Poco F3 GT in India. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, which is also the number one smartphone company in India, is prepping up for the launch of the next Redmi K-series flagship. Redmi K50 series is expected to launch later this year. Ahead of the launch, some of the specifications of the top-end Pro model have leaked. Let’s take a look at the Redmi K50 Pro+ specifications, features and other leaked details.

Redmi K50 Pro+ specifications

Xiaomi is gearing up for the Redmi K50 series launch. The top-end Redmi K50 Pro+ specs have leaked, suggesting a major upgrade over its predecessor. According to the leaked specs posted on Weibo, the Redmi flagship will pack Qualcomm’s next flagship processor under the hood. Dubbed Snapdragon 898 SoC, the flagship SoC is likely to launch in December at the Qualcomm Summit.

The premium Redmi smartphone is likely to launch in 8GB/ 12GB RAM options. Xiaomi is also said to pack a 5000 mAh battery inside the K50 Pro+. While there is no mention in the leak, we can expect the phone to support 67W fast charging at least, if not 120W fast charging support.

The tipster further notes that the device will have a 108MP camera sensor. The camera system will also include a telescopic zoom camera or a periscope camera. Xiaomi has used a 48MP telephoto camera sensor in the past for its Mi smartphones. It would be interesting to see if the company decides to use the same high-resolution sensor on a Redmi flagship, which is typically a lot more affordable than most other flagship smartphones. Previous reports suggest that the device will come with a 108MP triple-camera setup, a 120Hz AMOLED display with an optical fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi has neither confirmed nor denied any of the leaked specs. It is therefore advised to take the leak with a pinch of salt.
