The Redmi K50i 5G device has been launched in India today. With this launch, Xiaomi has re-introduced the Redmi K series device in India after three years as the Redmi K20 series was the last to launch in India. As per Xiaomi, this device will take on the other flagship killer devices in the mid-range space.
The K50i is a mid-range device priced under Rs 30,000 and it comes with a MediaTek Dimensity series chipset, 144Hz screen refresh rate, 67W fast charging, and more. The device will be available for purchase with additional launch offers during the Amazon Prime Day sale, which will happen on July 23rd and 24th. Redmi K50i: Specifications and Features
The Redmi K50i sports a 6.6-inch Full HD+ FFS LCD with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour space, 650 nits brightness, and a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. The display also supports Dolby Vision content, which is a unique thing for a phone with an LCD screen. The screen refresh rate can adapt to 30Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz depending on the content on the screen.
Under the hood, the phone is backed by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC with four premium Arm Cortex-A78 cores with a clock speed of 2.85GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2GHz. In the camera department, the Redmi K50i comes with a triple rear camera setup led by a 64MP(GW1) main camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro snapper. There is a 16MP selfie camera on the front.

The K50i comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage 一 both of which are pretty fast. The phone is backed by a 5,080mAh battery unit with support for 67W fast charging. The 67W fast charger will be provided in the box.
Furthermore, there is LiquidCool 2.0 with 7 graphite sheets to keep the thermals under check. In terms of software, the device runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 12. Other features include an IP53 rating, dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, X-Axis motor, 12 5G bands, Wi-Fi 6, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and IR Blaster. The device weighs 200 grams and is 8.8mm thick.
