Redmi K60 Could Launch Outside China as POCO F5 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC

The company has done a fair bit of rebranding devices in the past and the latest rumour suggests that the Redmi K60 could debut as the POCO F5 Pro.

Redmi recently launched the K60 series in China. The devices are set to go on sale later this month in the company’s home country. Redmi has not confirmed any details about launching the phones in markets outside China at the moment. However, according to the rumour mill, the phones could arrive in India and other markets under different names and branding. The latest rumour suggests that the Redmi K60 series could debut soon in various markets but in the form of the POCO F5 Pro.

The company has done a fair bit of rebranding devices in the past. The POCO F4 GT, which was launched in a few markets arrived in China as the Redmi K50 Gaming. The POCO F4, which was launched in India, is available in other markets as a tweaked version of the Redmi K40s.

There are some reports about the Redmi K60e launching as a successor to the K50i in India. However, tipster Kacper Skrzypek revealed that the K60e is exclusive to China for the time being. The tipster further revealed that the POCO F5 Pro could debut as a rebranded version of the Redmi K60. There is no word on the launch of the K60 Pro, which features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC in other markets. The phone sits at the top of the lineup and packs a 50MP triple-camera setup, 120W charging support and a 6.67-inch 2K AMOLED display.

Xiaomi has not confirmed any details about the same. Even if the K60 does launch in global markets as the POCO F5 Pro, it is unknown if the device will launch in India. The POCO flagship lineup has never seen a “Pro” model in India. The company has only launched the POCO F1, POCO F3 GT and POCO F4 in India.

Redmi K60 Specifications 

The middle child in the Redmi flagship lineup has a 6.67-inch 2K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Unlike the latest trend where flagship phones sport a curved display, the K60 5G’s screen is flat. It comes with 1400 nits of peak brightness.

Under the hood, the phone has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It also packs a 5500mAh battery and supports 67W fast charging and 30W wireless charging. The device’s triple-camera setup features a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera.
