Redmi K60 series launch is imminent. Xiaomi has confirmed that the K60 series will debut on December 27. The company has started dropping teasers of its upcoming flagship smartphone series in China. The latest teaser reveals the design of the upcoming Redmi K60 series. Xiaomi has officially revealed the design of the flagship phone via Weibo. The teaser image reveals the rear panel design of the phone. It shows the K60 series phone will have a curved back with a flat frame.
The rear panel has a textured grip on the sides. It also reveals the phone In its grey colour option. In addition to this, the device’s camera setup details have also been teased. Let’s take a look at the Redmi K60 series design, specifications and other details known so far.
Redmi K60 Series Gets a New Design
The Redmi K60 series will launch next week. Ahead of the launch, the design of the K60 series has been teased. The teaser image shows (via) that the K60 series phone has a rectangular camera module on the back. There is a triple-camera setup with two circular cutouts and a square-shaped periscope lens-like cutout. The LED flash module is also placed inside the camera module.
The text on the camera module confirms that the phone will support optical image stabilisation (OIS). In addition to this, we can see the cutouts for the IR blaster, microphone and secondary speaker grille on the top edge. The phone’s volume keys are also located on the right edge.
Redmi also revealed that the K60 Pro will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. The device was previously rumoured to feature a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC. It is unknown if the K60 5G will also have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC or if it will feature the older Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The Redmi K60e, which is also expected to launch alongside, is confirmed to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. It is rumoured that the K60 series will go on sale on December 31.
Some other details of the devices have leaked online. The K60 series is said to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. While the K60 and K60 Pro are expected to come with a 2K display, the K60e will have a Full HD+ resolution. The K60 Pro is also said to come with a curved display. Some reports contradict the claim. All three phones will have support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
The vanilla K60 is also said to pack a beefy 5500mAh battery and offer 67W fast charging support. The K60 Pro is likely to offer 120W fast charging and 30W wireless charging. The K60e, which will sit at the bottom of the lineup, will support 67W wireless charging. It is unlikely to get any wireless charging support.
Regarding the cameras, one of the K60 series phones will come with a 50MP triple-camera setup. The other device will have a 64MP triple-camera setup, which will also include an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. Lastly, the K60 and K60 Pro will boot MIUI 14 based on Android 13, whereas the K60e is likely to run Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box.
