Redmi K60: What to Expect Under the Hood
The Redmi K60 series could debut by the end of this year in China. The vanilla K60 could be the most affordable offering in the lineup. It is said to feature the unannounced Dimensity 8200 SoC, which could be announced at the MediaTek event in China on November 8.
The Dimensity 8200 SoC is said to feature a Cortex-X2 Prime Core, which is also found in the flagship Dimensity 9000 SoC. The SoC will have a peak clock speed of 3.1GHz, according to the rumour mill. The same SoC is said to be found in the upcoming iQOO Neo 7 SE 5G.
In addition to this, Digital Chat Station further revealed that the K60 5G will feature a 48MP main camera sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). There is no word on the kind of sensor that Redmi will use in its affordable flagship phone.
Other leaked details include the display and battery specs of the phone. The device is said to feature a QHD+ display, which will be a huge upgrade over the existing model’s Full HD+ screen. We can expect the phone to support a 120Hz refresh rate. There will be a bigger 5500mAh battery under the hood. There will be support for 30W wireless charging and 67W wired fast charging as well.
The device will also run Android 13 out of the box. As expected, there will be a layer of MIUI on top. It is unknown if the phones will launch with MIUI 13 or MIUI 14 out of the box.
Xiaomi is expected to launch the K60 series in India early next year. The company has not officially confirmed any details about the same. While we wait for that, let us know your thoughts about the K60 series in the comments below.
