Xiaomi is likely to launch a new Redmi smartphone soon. The company might launch the Redmi Note 12 4G in global markets later this month. Xiaomi has not confirmed any details about the launch of the new Note 12 series phone. However, based on the number of leaks surfacing on the web, it is likely that the Note 12 4G launch is imminent. Adding to the leaks is a new one from tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, who has uploaded the design renders of the upcoming Redmi smartphone.
The tipster also revealed the performance unit details of the Note 12 4G. Let’s take a look at the Redmi Note 12 4G specifications, design renders and other details known so far.
Redmi Note 12 4G: What You Need to Know
The Redmi Note 12 4G could be an upcoming mid-ranger from the company. The phone is likely to launch later this month in select markets. Ahead of the launch, tipster Ambhore has revealed the design renders of the Note 12 4G. According to the leaked renders, the Note 12 4G looks similar to the Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro Plus 5G, which were launched earlier this year in India.
The Notes 12 4G, according to the design renders, has a flat frame design. There is a slight curve between the frame and the rear panel, which could help offer a comfortable grip. The left edge of the phone has the SIM tray. On the right, you get the power and volume buttons.
The USB Type-C port, primary speaker grille and microphone are at the bottom. There is an IR blaster and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top edge. On the front, the Note 12 4G has a thick chin. There is a hole-punch cutout at the top centre of the phone for the front camera. The side and top bezels are fairly thin compared to the chin.
The rear panel houses a triple-camera setup inside a rectangular block. There is also an LED flash module inside. Ambhore revealed that the Note 12 4G will launch in three colours — Grey, Blue and Green.
The tipster also uploaded a live image of the phone, which reveals the About Section of the device. The image confirms that the phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 SoC under the hood. The tipster claims that the SoC is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 680 SoC. It was also spotted on Geekbench, which revealed that the Snapdragon 685 SoC has a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz. The phone will launch with 4GB of RAM and 3GB of virtual RAM. The Note 12 4G will run MIUI 14 out of the box. It should have a layer of Android 13 on top. Ironically, the Note 12 series launched in India came with Android 12 out of the box.
The Note 12 4G is expected to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. It is likely to support a 120Hz refresh rate. There will be a 13MP front camera. The phone is also expected to feature a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth/ macro sensor. Under the hood, there will be a 5000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging, according to the leaked details.
