Xiaomi, back in January, introduced the Redmi Note 12 series in the Indian market. The company, as of now, sells the Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G under the Note 12 series in the country. Now, the company is all set to add yet another smartphone to the Note 12 lineup – the Redmi Note 12. The upcoming Redmi Note 12 will be the first 4G smartphone under the Note 12 lineup.

As per the announcement, the Redmi Note 12 will make its debut on March 30 in the Indian market. Xiaomi took it to social media channels to make a formal announcement for the upcoming launch. The launch teaser reveals the complete look of the upcoming device. Alongside, the Redmi Note 12 launch micro-sites have also gone live on Flipkart as well as Xiaomi’s own website which reveal the key specifications of the device.


Redmi Note 12: Specifications and Features

The Redmi Note 12 will feature a 120Hz AMOLED display with a centered punch-hole notch. We can expect it to be a Full HD+ resolution panel. Under the hood, the upcoming Note 12 series smartphone will sport an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 is an overclocked Snapdragon 680 and it doesn’t offer 5G connectivity. The smartphone is also confirmed to feature up to 11GB of memory (including virtual RAM).

The Redmi Note 12, similar to its elder siblings, will feature a triple-rear camera setup and an LED flash. The company has confirmed that the primary shooter on the device will be a 50MP sensor. Xiaomi hasn’t revealed the resolution and other details about the remaining two rear sensors and the front camera.

The Redmi Note 12 will be equipped with a 5000mAh battery unit. It is also confirmed to feature support for 33W fast charging. We can expect the handset to feature a Type-C port for charging and data transfers. On the security front, it will be equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, embedded into the power button. The handset will also offer a 3.5mm audio jack and an IR blaster.

The upcoming Redmi Note 12 was recently spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database which revealed that it will come pre-loaded with Android 13.
