Xiaomi released Android 13-based MIUI 14 software update for the Redmi Note 10 5G and the Redmi Note 11 SE last month. Now, the brand has started rolling out the MIUI 14 software update for two Redmi Note 12 series devices namely the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G. The company took to Twitter yesterday to confirm the release of MIUI 14 software update for these devices. As per the information available, the new MIUI 14 software update for the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G doesn’t bring the Android 13 OS version.

As far as the other changes go, the new MIUI 14 software update for both these devices brings Super icons on the phone’s home screen, new widgets, support for quick app launch, and enhanced performance. The update also improves battery life on both devices. The rollout of the MIUI 14 will be first available for users who earlier enrolled in the Mi Pilots program, while the update will be rolled out for other users later on.

Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G Specifications, Features

The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G features a 6.67-inch OLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. These phones have a 395 PPI pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Both these devices are equipped with Dimensity 1080 processor which is paired with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. These devices pack up to 12GB of RAM and pack 256GB of internal storage. On the software side of things, these devices run Android 12 OS.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G features a triple-camera setup. The camera module consists of a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G has a 200MP main camera, 8MP secondary lens, and a 2MP sensor. Both phones feature a 16MP selfie camera which has a f/2.5 aperture.

These devices are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery. The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G offers 67W fast charging support, while the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G has 120W fast charging support. As for the security purpose, these smartphones have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
