Xiaomi recently unveiled the Redmi Note 12 series in its domestic market. The Redmi Note 12 series consists of four devices – Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Pro+, and Redmi Note 12 Explorer. In a new development, the global variants of the Redmi Note 12 and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ have been spotted on the IMEI database, courtesy of Xiaomiui.
The findings by Xiaomiui reveal that the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ global variants are codenamed Ruby, the same as their Chinese counterparts. This means that the global variants of Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will be the same as the Chinese variants. Let us take a closer look at the details.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G made appearances on the IMEI database with model numbers 22101316G and 22101316UG. This confirms that the Redmi note 12 Pro series for the global markets will be no different from their Chinese counterparts. However, the Redmi Note 12 Pro series devices are expected to launch under the Xiaomi branding in India.
To those unaware, recent findings suggest that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will launch as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge in the Indian market. We can expect the vanilla Note 12 Pro to make its debut as Xiaomi 12i in India. Last year, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ Chinese variants as the Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge in India.
