Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 12 Series in China in October this year. The series feature four devices including the Note 12 5G, Note 12 5G Explorer Edition, Note 12 Pro 5G, and the Note 12 Pro+ 5G. The global launch is yet to be announced, however, various certification websites have hinted at an imminent launch of the devices.

In the latest, a tipster tweeted the launch details of the Redmi Note 12 Series in India. He provided details that state the series will launch soon in India. Xiaomi probably plans to poise the Redmi Note 12 Series in India to take on the upcoming Realme 10 series of devices. Redmi Note 12 Pro+ to Feature a 200MP Main Camera

The leak states that the Redmi Note 12 series launch will happen soon in India. Furthermore, the tipster suggests that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ Indian variant will feature a 200MP main camera. However, the charging speed of the Indian variant is unknown at the moment which is one of the main ways we can differentiate between the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and the Explorer Edition. That said, Xiaomi is also said to launch the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ as Xiaomi 12i Hypercharge in India. We will get to know later which of the report is true.

Along with these, Xiaomi is also tipped to launch a 4G variant of the Redmi Note 12 Pro in India which could essentially be a rebadged Redmi Note device. We speculate that Xiaomi will launch the devices early in 2023 in India.

Redmi Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+: Specifications and Features

The Redmi Note 12 Pro series devices are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor. The Dimensity 1080 was announced quite recently and is fabbed using TSMC’s 6nm process. These smartphones feature 120Hz OLED display panels with Full HD+ resolution, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and 900nits peak brightness. The display panel is HDR10+ as well as Dolby Vision certified.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro features a 50MP primary shooter with a Sony IMX766 sensor and OIS support. It gets accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. The Note 12 Pro+, on the other hand, comes equipped with a 200MP shooter that includes a Samsung HMX sensor with OIS. Similar to the Note 12 Pro, the Note 12 Pro+ also has a 2MP macro camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

The Redmi Note 12 series smartphones rely on 16MP camera sensors for video calls and selfies. Both these devices pack 5000mAh battery units under the hood. The Note 12 Pro supports 67W fast charging. Whereas, the Note 12 Pro+ offers 120W fast charging. There is also a Note 12 Explorer with whopping 210W fast charging but it appears that it will not be launching in global markets.
