Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G smartphone after many weeks of confirming the launch. The Chinese OEM had revealed almost every specification before the launch through teasers. It is the first smartphone in the world to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. The smartphone is said to launch in global markets under different branding. It is tipped to launch in India as Poco F5 5G on April 6, 2023. However, Poco hasn’t officially revealed the launch date of the upcoming Poco F5 5G smartphone. Let us look at the pricing and specifications of the newly launched Note 12 Turbo 5G smartphone.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G: Pricing and Availability

Xiaomi has priced the smartphone at RMB 1,999 (approx. Rs 23,880) for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at RMB 2,099 (approx. Rs 25,100) and RMB 2,299 (approx. Rs 27,450) for the 12GB + 512GB variant. While the higher variant with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at RMB 2,599 (approx. Rs 31,100). The smartphone is available in three colour options, namely ice feather white, star sea blue and carbon fiber black.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G: Specifications

Xiaomi has equipped the smartphone with a 6.67 inches 12-bit Flexible OLED panel. The display supports will 68.7 billion colors, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 120Hz refresh rate, 1920Hz PWM Dimming, and HDR10+ certification. The smartphone also gets A Mark certification of TUV SUD 48-Month Fluency Rating. The display has a 93.45% screen-to-body ratio, 1.95mm thickness on top, a 2.22mm thickness of chin, and 1.42mm on the sides.

Xiaomi claims that the bezels in the display are thinner than iPhone 14. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset pairs with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The 3725mm vapour champer cooling increases the heat dissipation capacity by 35%. It runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. The smartphone weighs around 181 grams with an overall thickness of 7.9mm.

In the optics department, the smartphone has a triple-rear camera setup. The setup comprises a primary 64MP sensor with OIS and f/1.8 aperture. The primary camera also supports in-sensor zoom, Xiaomi’s Image Brain 2.0, and a film camera. An 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor accompany the primary camera. The centred punch-hole in the display houses the 16MP selfie camera.

The smartphone is backed by a large 5000mAh battery which supports 67W fast charging tech. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, an X-axis linear motor, an IR blaster, a stereo speaker setup, and USB type-C port on the connectivity front. Xiaomi has integrated the fingerprint scanner into the power button. Xiaomi has launched the smartphone with Dolby Vision, Hi-Res audio, and spatial audio support.
