Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G with New Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC Launching in China on 28 March

Xiaomi is all set to unveil the Redmi Note 12 series globally on March 23. The company has already launched the Redmi Note 12 series in India and China. However, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch a new Redmi Note 12 4G variant globally in the Note 12 series. The company had previously confirmed that it would launch Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G smartphone in China. A new teaser from the brand on Weibo reveals the launch date of the upcoming smartphone. The design of the smartphone is also revealed in the teaser, along with the device’s key specifications.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G Launch Date and Known Specifications

The latest teaser from Xiaomi reveals that the company will launch Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G on March 28 in China. The brand also tells us that it will be the first smartphone in the world to feature the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC. The chipset is a trimmed-down version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The new processor is built on a 4nm process with a tri-cluster setup.

The chipset has one prime core clocked at 2.91GHz, three performance cores at 2.5GHz, four efficiency cores at 1.8GHz, and Adreno 725 GPU. Qualcomm claims it is 50% more powerful and 13% more efficient than Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. Xiaomi confirms that the chipset will be paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Further, the teaser image reveals that the smartphone will have a 64MP primary camera. Xiaomi will equip the smartphone with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a flat display, and a metal frame. The company hasn’t revealed any other specifications of the smartphone. However, the specifications were previously tipped by various tipsters and certifications.

The 3C listing confirmed the support for 67W fast charging tech. The tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that it will be backed by a 5500 mAh battery. The smartphone will have a 6.67 inches OLED display with FHD+ resolution. The display will have a refresh rate of 120Hz and a centred punch-hole.

The chipset will be paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The smartphone is said to run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. Xiaomi is said to equip the smartphone with a triple-rear camera setup. The setup would consist of a primary 50MP sensor and two 2MP sensors, which would be macro and depth sensors, respectively. Xiaomi will equip the smartphone with an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.
