Xiaomi confirmed that it would launch Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G smartphone on March 28 in China. It would be the first smartphone in the world to feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor. Since then, the company has been teasing the specifications of the smartphone. The smartphone will also launch globally under the Poco F5 branding. A report has tipped that Poco will launch the smartphone on April 5 in India. Xiaomi will also launch Redmi Note 12 4G on March 30 in India. The official teaser revealed the design, display specifications, and more of the forthcoming Note 12 Turbo 5G smartphone.
Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G Confirmed Specifications
Xiaomi has confirmed it will equip the smartphone with a 12-bit Flexible OLED panel. The display will support 68.7 billion colors, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 1920Hz PWM Dimming, and SGS Low Blue Light, HDR10+ certification. The smartphone also gets A Mark certification of TUV SUD 48-Month Fluency Rating and slimmer bezels than the iPhone 14.
Xiaomi said that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G has a 2.22mm thickness of chin in comparison to the 2.4mm of the iPhone 14. The company also claims a 93.45% screen to body ratio with 1.95mm thickness on top and 1.42mm on the sides for the display. The smartphone weighs around 181 grams with an overall thickness of 7.9mm.
The company reveals that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset will be paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It is said to sport a 3725mm vapour champer cooling to increase the heat dissipation capacity by 35%. The Note 12 Turbo 5G focuses on optimum performance during gaming primarily. The brand also tells us that it uses a four-corner reinforced design.
The motherboard will be attached with reinforced steel to enhance the device’s durability. The smartphone will run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. It would be the first Redmi Note 12 smartphone to run on Android 13 out of the box. The teaser image will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, IR blaster, stereo speaker setup, USB type-C port, and metal frame.
The company also claims that it has a software failure rate of 0.005% and has passed 300 plus test scenarios and 250,000 hours of ultra-long stress testing. The teaser image further confirmed that it would feature a 64MP primary camera. Various reports have revealed that it will bring support for OIS.
The details of the other cameras in the setup are currently unknown. Despite having an OLED panel, it is rumoured that the fingerprint sensor will be integrated into the power button. It is also confirmed to sport a large 5000 mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging tech.
