Xiaomi, back in December, introduced the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition smartphone in the Chinese market. The company, as of now, has as many as five smartphones under the Note 12 lineup. The brand is rumoured to launch the Redmi Note 12 Turbo in the coming weeks in the Chinese market. The upcoming Note 12 Turbo was recently spotted on the 3C certification database.
Now, a new report by Xiaomiui reveals that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will launch as the POCO X5 GT in the global markets. Folks at Xiaomiui spotted the upcoming Redmi Note 12 Turbo with the model number 23049RAD8C on the IMEI database. Alongside, two POCO smartphones with model numbers 23049PCD8G (G represents the global variant) and 23049PCD8I (I represents the Indian variant) have also acquired IMEI database certification. Let us take a closer look at what we know about the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and POCO X5 GT so far.
Folks at Xiaomiui claim that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo will be exclusive to the Chinese market. However, the smartphone will launch in global markets including India but under POCO branding. If true, the upcoming POCO X5 GT will be the company’s first X GT series smartphone in India. To those unaware, the brand didn’t launch the POCO X3 GT and POCO X4 GT smartphones in the Indian market in past.
Recently, the details surrounding the Redmi Note 12 Turbo were tipped by the popular Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station. As per the tipster, the upcoming Note 12 series smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 processor. The handset is tipped to sport a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution.
The Redmi Note 12 Turbo is tipped to come paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. On the optics front, it might offer the same set of cameras as that of the Redmi Note 12 Pro. This means that we could see a combination of a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. The smartphone could be equipped with a 5000mAh battery unit and 67W fast charging support.
The upcoming Note 12 Turbo is tipped to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner and will be the first Note 12 series smartphone to feature so. What are your expectations from the Redmi Note 12 Turbo and POCO X5 GT? Do let us know in the comments section below.
