Xiaomi is gearing up for the launch of a new Note series smartphone. The company has confirmed it will launch the Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G as its new offering in the Note 12 series. The device will join the likes of the Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 4G, Note 12 Pro 5G, Note 12 Pro Speed Edition and the Note 12 Pro+ 5G. Xiaomi, at the time of the launch date confirmation, revealed some key details about the Note 12R Pro 5G. The company has now revealed some more specifications of the upcoming Redmi Note 12 series smartphone.

Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G Specifications Confirmed

The Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G seems to be a mid-range smartphone offering in China. The phone will sit above the Note 12 5G in the lineup. Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has now revealed that the Note 12R Pro 5G will sport an AMOLED display. The flat screen has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera. It has support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The display also offers 1200 nits of peak brightness. It does have a slightly thick chin compared to the rest of the bezels.

Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Note 12R Pro 5G will pack a beefy 5000mAh battery under the hood. The phone will offer 33W fast charging support out of the box. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone also packs up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Under the hood, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. Xiaomi has revealed that the phone will feature a dual-camera setup on the back. There will be a 48MP main camera sensor. The company has also confirmed that there will be three colour options at launch — Gold, White and Black.

Separately, a XiaomiUI report revealed the remaining specs of the phone. The report claimed that the Note 12R Pro 5G will sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED display made by Samsung. It will sport a Full HD+ resolution. The device will come with an 8MP front camera sensor. On the back, the 48MP main camera will be accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor.

The phone will feature LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. It will also come with a microSD card slot, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IP53 rating. The phone will run Android 13 out of the box and have a layer of MIUI 14 on top.

It is safe to say that the Note 12R Pro 5G only packs more RAM and storage while running the latest Android update out of the box. The rest of the specs of the phone are identical to the Note 12 5G, which was launched last year in China.
