Xiaomi’s managing director for India, Manu Kumar Jain has posted an image on Twitter teasing the launch of the Redmi Note 7 smartphone for the Indian market. In the tweet, Manu has mentioned: Amazing 48MP camera is coming. Currently, there is only one smartphone from Xiaomi that has a 48MP camera, which is the Redmi Note 7. So, there is no doubt that the teaser is all about the Redmi Note 7. In the tweet, Manu also says “We’re going to turn this industry upside down.”

Redmi Note 7 is Now Receiving an Update with Super Night Scene Mode
There is another development regarding the Redmi Note 7. Last week, Xiaomi confirmed that the brand would soon update the Redmi Note 7 with the Super Night Scene mode. Now, the brand has confirmed that the update rollout is live. Currently, the update is being rolled out to the users in China. There is no information at the moment what else the update brings, but a few users have reported that the update also has a bug fix patch. For your information, the Super Night Scene mode as the name suggests aids in capturing images in lowlight conditions. In this mode, the camera takes multiple images at different shutter speed and merges those images to produce the final image.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 features a 6.3-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection over it. The device comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. It is available in three variants internationally; 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. However, as we recently reported, the brand is also going to launch 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage options in China. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 runs on Android 9 Pie operating system with MIUI 10 customization.
The most talked about feature of the Redmi Note 7 has to be its rear camera setup. The device has a 48MP camera at the back along with a 5MP depth-sensor. The Redmi Note 7 is the first smartphone in its price range to come with a 48MP camera. Not even the flagship high-end smartphones have such a high-resolution camera. The 48MP camera, however, combines four pixels into one to give a 12MP final image. According to Xiaomi, pixel-binning helps in producing a brighter and more detailed picture. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 can also record 4K videos at 30 frames per second. A front-facing camera is a 13MP unit.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 comes with the much-requested USB Type-C port, making it the first Redmi device to offer one. The device also has the Bluetooth v5.0, instead of the Bluetooth v4.2 in its predecessor. Other connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE on both SIM cards simultaneously, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, GPS, and an infrared port to control other electronic appliances. The device also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a microSD card slot, and a glass back design. The smartphone packs a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 fast charging.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Expected Launch Date and Pricing in India
Now that Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Note 7 is coming to India, we expect the device launch by the end of February. As far as the pricing goes, the Redmi Note 7 could be priced at INR 11,999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, INR 13,999 for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, and INR 16,999 for 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.
