During the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 series launch event in India, Xiaomi had announced the MIUI 11 rollout roadmap for the country. After the successful rollout of the latest iteration of Xiaomi’s smartphone software to the Redmi K20 (Review), it’s now Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro’s turn to receive the MIUI 11 software update in India.
Redmi Note 7 Pro Starts Receiving MIUI 11 Stable Update in India
A lot of Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro users in India have started posting screenshots confirming that their devices on various social media platforms. Their phones have started receiving the MIUI 11 software update. Sadly though, a lot of users have still not been able to receive any such notification. It looks like the MIUI 11 for the Redmi Note 7 Pro is a phased rollout, so other users should also be able to download the update in a few days.
As seen in the image, the update has a file size of 746MB and it also brings with it the October 2019 Android security patch. Note that the Redmi K20 MIUI 11 update is still on the September 2019 security patch even with the MIUI 11 update. Though the official MIUI forum in India or Xiaomi’s Twitter handle has not declared anything about this update, the images are more or less legit and we can expect an official confirmation in no time.
MIUI 11 Features & Changelog
As far as the features the latest iteration of MIUI brings with it are concerned, we get a design overhaul in terms of the icons, the UI (especially a native dark mode), Dynamic Lock Screen effects, Floating Calculator, Steps Tracker, nature-based notification sounds, a revamped Mi File Manager app, Short Video mode in the camera interface (that helps you record 15 seconds long videos that can be set as video wallpapers), a Wallpaper Carousel that lets users have a personalized lock screen, and some more. The notification light-like experience to the lock screen is one of the prime highlights of the update.
How To Update Redmi Note 7 Pro to MIUI 11?
In order to check whether your Redmi Note 7 Pro has received the update or not, all you need to do is to hit About Phone > System Update and click on Check for updates. Post that, if in case the update has arrived on your device, you can download it right away. If in case you don’t receive a notification regarding the same, it’s always a wise idea to keep on checking this settings menu item regularly. Though unconventional, sometimes even restarting the device helps the case and you might just receive the notification.
As of now, we are not sure as to when the update will begin rolling out officially, but it’s coming up soon and we will keep you updated on the same. As far as the first batch of the devices that are set to receive the MIUI 11 update is concerned, these are the devices which are in line (from October 22 to October 31) for the update:
