Redmi Note 7

Last week, Xiaomi finally revealed the launch date for the Redmi Note 7 budget Android smartphone in India. The smartphone will be formally launched in the country on February 28. Ahead of the launch event next week, a ‘Notify Me’ page for the Redmi Note 7 has gone live on the Flipkart website.

Xiaomi’s Next “Game Changer” Will Launch in India on February 28

The Redmi Note 7, which was launched in China last month, is expected to be Xiaomi’s next “game changer device” for the Indian market. It will succeed the Redmi Note 5 from last year and is set to take on rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy M20, Realme 2 Pro, and ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 in the budget segment. The ‘Notify Me’ page on Flipkart highlights several key selling points of the smartphone, including its 48MP primary camera, powerful Snapdragon 660 SoC, gradient reflective glass design, tough build, splash resistance, and impressive battery life. As we had reported earlier this month, Xiaomi is likely to launch only the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variants of the Redmi Note 7 in the Indian market. The smartphone will be offered in three color options: Red, Black, and Blue.

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 features a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ resolution IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 14nm octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz with an Adreno 512 GPU. In terms of memory, the smartphone is sold in China with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The key highlight of the Redmi Note 7 is undoubtedly the AI dual-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP resolution Samsung GM1 primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. For selfies, the smartphone has a 13MP AI selfie snapper on the front. The Redmi smartphone is fueled by a 4000mAh capacity battery with Quick Charge 4 support. On the software front, Redmi Note 7 currently runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10 and is expected to be updated to MIUI 11 later this year.
