Xiaomi has introduced a new Redmi Note series device, and no it’s not a Redmi Note 10 series device. The latest Redmi Note series handset – Redmi Note 8 2021, launched in global markets, is the company’s way to celebrate a milestone. The company had recently announced that it sold 25million units of the Redmi Note 8 handset that launched back in 2019. The official listing of the latest Redmi Note handset surfaced on the web a couple of days back revealing the complete specifications. Now, the Chinese smartphone giant has officially announced the smartphone. Let us take a look at the Redmi Note 8 2021 price, specifications, and features.

The Note 8 2021 retails in two variants – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. The handset is already available for purchase in several global markets, but rumors suggest that India launch isn’t on cards.

Redmi Note 8 2021: Specifications, and Features

The Note 8 2021 offers a 6.3-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 2340×1080 pixel resolution, and the standard 60Hz refresh rate. This panel can go as high as 500nits if we talk about the peak brightness, and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The handset features a dot notch (waterdrop) up top that houses the front camera.

The Note 8 2021 is equipped with an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, fabbed on a 12nm process. While the graphics tasks are taken care of by the Mali-G52 GPU. Redmi Note 8 2021 comes with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB emmc 5.1 storage. The handset also features a dedicated micro-SD card slot to let users expand the storage further. The device boots company’s proprietary MIUI 12.5, based on Android 11.

Moving on to the cameras, the Note 8 2021, similar to the Note 8 (2019 variant), offers a 48MP quad-rear camera setup with an LED flash. The primary high-resolution shooter on the handset gets accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The smartphone packs a 13MP shooter at the front for selfies, and video calls.

The Note 8 2021 is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Though, weirdly, Xiaomi will provide a 22.5W charger in the box. The fingerprint sensor on the handset resides on the rear panel, and it also features a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C charging port. Connectivity options include Dual Sim, 4G, Bluetooth 5.2, Dual 2.4GHz/ 5GHz Wi-Fi, and GPS, Glonass, Galileo E1, Beidou B1. The smartphone weighs 190grams, and measures 158.3×75.3×8.35mm.
