Redmi Note 8 MIUI 188.8.131.52 Update Changelogs,Other Optimized system performance Improved system security and stability
Xiaomi hasn’t mentioned much about the update in the changelogs, but the update brings an updated October Android security patch along with regular Android 11 features. The update also brings a 1GB Memory Extension, which is Xiaomi’s version of virtual RAM. It is worth noting that the handset is receiving Andorid 11 based MIUI 12 update, and not MIUI 12.5 update. So, Redmi Note 8 users in India will have to wait for some more time to be able to use the latest MIUI features on their device.
As usual, this should be a phased rollout, so it might take some time before the update appears on your unit. Android OEMs follow phased rollouts to minimize the impact of critical bugs. We can expect the brand to roll out Android 11 update for all Redmi Note 8 users in India in the next few days. For those who are comfortable with manually flashing the zip via the updater method, here is the download link.
Redmi Note 8 is 2 years old now and has already received two Android version updates that are Android 10 and Android 11. This means the handset will not receive another Android platform upgrade in the future. However, we can expect the company to update it to MIUI 12.5, and maybe to MIUI 13 in the future.
