Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 along with Redmi Note 8 Pro in India almost a year ago. Android 10 update for the Note 8 has been long overdue. Back in May, we heard that Android 10 for Redmi Note 8 will arrive along with MIUI 12 update. There have been various rumors and speculations going around Android 10 and MIUI 12 update for the smartphone since MIUI 12 India launch in August. Finally, Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update is now rolling out in some regions. As expected, the update also brings Android platform version upgrade along with. The update comes with version 126.96.36.199.QCOMIXM, and brings September Android patch, along with Android 10.
MIUI 12 brings several new features and changes along with improvements. It brings all-new system animations across the UI, new floating windows for easier multitasking, new control center to name a few. It brings improvements in the security and privacy departments with Hidden Mask Mode, Interceptor, and Flare modes.
