Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro a little while ago. Both the devices are selling pretty well across the globe already. That, however, has not stopped the company from experimenting from the Note 8 series as it has launched a new color variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro in Taiwan, just a month after its initial launch. The company has dubbed the new color variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pr as “Deep Sea Blue”.

As seen in the image, the new color variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro looks remarkable. The variant is available in two memory configurations – 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB and are priced at NT$6,599 (somewhere around $217) and NT$7,599 (somewhere around $250) respectively.

Just to refresh your memory, the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch at the top. The display offers 500-nits of maximum brightness. There is a tiny chin at the bottom of the device which takes far lesser space when compared with its standard sibling, the Redmi Note 8. Both the front and the rear of the Redmi Note 8 Pro are protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is powered with an octa-core Mediatek Helio G90T chipset which is built on a 12nm architecture. Coupling the processor is 6G/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. It is worth noting that the Indian variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for further storage expansion. The storage is UFS 2.1.

Coming to the cameras of the device, the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a quad rear camera setup with the 64MP primary sensor being the prime highlight of the device. The 64MP sensor utilizes a 4-in-1 pixel-binning and puts out a 16MP image. The second camera is an 8MP ultrawide unit with an f/2.2 aperture. Adding to these two, we get a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The front camera is a 20MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture.

As far as the battery of the Redmi Note 8 Pro is concerned, we get a big 4500mAh battery which comes with up to 18W of fast charging. The device follows three charging protocols – USB Power Delivery, MediaTek Pump Express, and Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Thankfully enough, an 18W fast charger is bundled with the box. To make things even better, the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR Blaster.

Additionally, the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with IP52 water and dust resistance.

As of now, it is not confirmed as to whether or not the new Deep Sea Blue color variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro will be available to the other parts of the world, but we might get to see some news related to the same in the coming days.
