Xiaomi has priced the Redmi Note 8 in India at INR 9,999 for 4GB + 64GB variant, and INR 12,999 for 6GB + 128GB variant.

The Redmi Note 8 will go on sale in India at 12 PM on 21st October through Xiaomi’s official online store, Amazon India, and Mi Home. The device will soon be available through local Mi Partners, but Xiaomi hasn’t announced an exact date for that.

As for the launch offers, the Redmi Note 8 buyers will get a double data from Airtel, provided that you recharge with INR 249 unlimited plan.

Redmi Note 8 Specifications

The Redmi Note 8 features the same 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD that is in the Redmi Note 7S. However, the device now has a V-shaped notch on its display, instead of the U-shaped notch that is in its predecessor. The bezels are now thinner, as well. You also get Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Redmi Note 8 offers a quad-camera, just like its sibling, the Redmi Note 8 Pro. However, this one has a slightly different setup. You get a 48MP primary camera instead of the 64MP unit. The other three cameras, however, remain the same. There is an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The main drawback with the Redmi Note 7S was that it lacked 4K video recording. Well, Xiaomi has taken the feedback, and it offers the Redmi Note 8 with a 4K video recording option. As for selfies, the Redmi Note 8 carries over the 13MP sensor from its predecessor.

Powering the Redmi Note 8 is the Snapdragon 665 SoC. Going by the name, it might seem that the Snapdragon 665 offers only a slight improvement over the Snapdragon 660. However, that is not the case. The Snapdragon 665 is based on the 11nm fabrication process instead of the 14nm fabrication process that Snapdragon 660 uses. So, there is a major improvement. This chipset has eight Kryo 260 CPU cores and Adreno 610 GPU. On the software side of things, you get Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10.

The Redmi Note 8 packs a 4000mAh battery pack supporting 18W Quick Charge 4+ fast charging. In terms of connectivity, the device has dual-SIM with dual-4G, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, and infrared port. The Redmi Note 8 also offers rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Gorilla Glass 5 rear panel, and P2i water-resistant coating.
