Xiaomi the smartphone brand has recently released it’s MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 9 Pro variant and the global variant of Redmi Note 9S also received the update in October. It was expected that the company is aiming to roll out the Android 11 update soon and it has been expected that the update will soon arrive on the Redmi Note 9S, which is rebranded as Redmi Note 9 Pro in the Indian market. Reports also suggest that the Android 11 will arrive in early 2021.

However, the latest report from Piunikaweb claims that the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro is already started receiving the OS update. Just to remind you, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Indian version is completely different from the global variant.

As per the report, multiple users have reported on the MIUI 12 Official Telegram channel that the Android 11 update has arrived on their devices. You can also install the OS update manually from the download link embedded below.

How to Install Android 11 Update on Redmi Note 9 Pro

  • You need to download the update which is around 2.3GB in file size, the downloaded file will be in zip format.
  • Move the file to your device if you have downloaded it on you PC
  • First you need to head to the Setting menu on your smartphone
  • Select the System Update
  • Tap the gear icon and select Local upgrade
  • Select the downloaded file and click Install

The update is available for the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro variant and the global variant is still yet to receive the Android 11 update, but it’s also expected to receive the OS update soon. Do note that the company is yet to officially announce anything about the global Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro variants. With the Android 11 update, the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro has joined the Android 11 family along with the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro.
