We were the first to spot the Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone, the Redmi Note 9, on Geekbench. The listing of the device on the benchmarking platform had revealed that it features the MediaTek MT6769V/CZ processor. At that time, there was no information regarding the chipset. Today, however, we bring you some exclusive information regarding it. According to the information we have obtained, the MediaTek 6769V/CZ is the Helio P75 SoC and the Redmi Note 9 will be the first smartphone in the world to feature it. Expect MediaTek to launch the Helio P75 processor just before the launch of the Redmi Note 9.

MediaTek Helio P75 Could Be Placed Between Helio P70 and Helio P90

Going by the name of the chipset, it is obvious that the MediaTek Helio P75 will be placed between the Helio P70 and the Helio P90 SoCs and that it will be a slightly more powerful version of the Helio P70. Expect the Helio P75 to have four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A73 CPU cores. Its GPU will most probably be the Mali-G72 MP3. The clock frequency of the CPU cores and the GPU of the Helio P75 will most likely be higher than that of the Helio P70.

Redmi Note 9 Could Outperform Redmi Note 8 By A Considerable Margin

As most of you might know, the Redmi Note 8 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. If you compare the Snapdragon 660 with the Helio P70, the latter comes out on top, at least in terms of CPU performance. So, it is only obvious that the upcoming, Helio P75 will outrun the Snapdragon 660 by a considerable margin. Therefore, it makes sense for Xiaomi to shift to the MediaTek Helio P75 chipset with the Redmi Note 9 from the Snapdragon 660 in the Redmi Note 8.

Unfortunately, we don’t have information regarding other specifications of the Redmi Note 9 at the moment. That being said, expect it to pack a quad-camera setup at the rear with either 48MP or 64MP primary sensor, an IPS LCD display with punch-hole, up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and a battery capacity of around 4500mAh with 18W fast charging. Stay tuned to know more.
