As earlier leaks and rumors suggested, the Redmi Note 9S is a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro for the Malaysian market. While the Indian market got the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max as well, the Malaysian market is yet to get the device. Looks like the brand is saving it for a later date. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 9S in Malaysia in two configurations. The base configuration has 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and it costs MYR 799. The second variant has 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and this one is priced at MYR 899.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution, 450 nits brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The smartphone features a quad-camera setup at the rear that has a 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The main camera sensor at the rear is capable of recording 4K videos at 30 frames per second. The selfie camera of the smartphone is a 16MP unit with Full HD video recording capability.
