Xiaomi is expected to launch the successor of last year’s Redmi Pad – the Redmi Pad 2 in the coming weeks. Just last week, the upcoming Redmi tablet with the model number 23073RPBFC was spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database. The Redmi Pad 2 Geekbench listing revealed that the tablet will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC under the hood.
In the latest development, the Redmi Pad 2 has been spotted on the 3C certification website. The latest certification listing reveals that the upcoming Redmi Pad 2 will feature support for 18W fast charging. Let us take a closer look at the Redmi Pad 2 3C certification listing and what we already know about the device.
The Redmi Pad 2 made an appearance on the 3C certification website with the model number 23073RPBFC (C represents the Chinese variant). As per the listing, the Redmi Pad 2 will feature support for 18W (9V/2A) fast charging.
The Redmi Pad 2’s charging adapter will have model numbers MDY-09-EK, MDY-09-ER, or MDY-11-EM. These chargers support 15W (5V/3A), 20W (9V/2.23A), 20W (12V/1.67A), and 22.5W (10V/2.25A). Apart from it, the 3C certification listing doesn’t reveal anything about the upcoming Redmi Pad 2.
The Redmi Pad 2 was earlier spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database which revealed that the tablet will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC under the hood. To those unaware, the first gen Redmi Pad packs a MediaTek Helio G99 inside which is more powerful compared to Snapdragon 680. The upcoming Redmi tablet will feature 4GB of RAM and will come pre-loaded with Android 13.
The Redmi Pad 2 will be launched in 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 128GB configuration options as the same was revealed in the FCC certification listing. A leak previously suggested that the upcoming Redmi Pad 2 will be equipped with a 10.95-inch LCD display.
As per leaked information, Redmi will retain the 90Hz refresh rate display from the Redmi Pad to its successor. This means that we will likely see a 90Hz refresh rate LCD display on the Redmi Pad 2. The display panel will feature a 1200 × 1920 pixel resolution.
The Redmi Pad 2 is tipped to feature an 8MP rear camera setup. For selfies, it might rely on a 5MP front camera. The first-gen Redmi Pad offers an 8MP selfie camera, so in terms of the front camera, Redmi is likely going with a downgrade. Another leak suggested that the Redmi Pad 2 will pack an 8000mAh battery unit under the hood.
The Redmi Pad is expected to go official in the coming weeks and we can expect it to be priced under Rs 20,000 mark.
