Xiaomi‘s Redmi recently made its debut in the Android tablet segment with the Redmi Pad. The Redmi Pad will be available for purchase for the first time today in the Indian market. The first tablet under the Redmi branding is powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor and up to 6GB of RAM. The device offers a 2K resolution display and a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos.

Redmi Pad: Specifications and Features

The Redmi Pad features a 10.61-inch LCD display panel with a 2000 x 1200 pixel resolution, 220ppi pixel density, 90Hz refresh rate, and 400nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, the Redmi tablet sports an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99 processor. It comes paired with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. The tablet boots MIUI 13 for Pad, based on Android 12. Redmi has also promised two Android version upgrades and three years of security patch updates for its first tablet.

The Redmi Pad comes equipped with an 8000mAh battery unit and makes use of a Type-C port for charging and data transfers. The tablet supports 18W fast charging but Redmi is bundling a 22.5W fast charging adapter in the retail box. For video calls, the Redmi Pad offers an 8MP front camera with a 105° field of view. The rear shooter on the tablet is also an 8MP sensor.

The Redmi Pad comes in three colour options – Mint Green, Moonlight Silver, and Graphite Grey. It weighs 465grams and measures 250.5 × 158.1 × 7.1mm. It sports a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos audio. The tablet also features a microSD card slot. For connectivity, the Redmi Pad relies on WiFi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 5.3.
