Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has just launched its first tablet in India. Called the Redmi Pad, the tablet is also set to be available in global markets. The Redmi Pad competes against a bunch of tablets priced under Rs 20,000 in India. These include the Realme Pad, OPPO Pad Air, Moto Tab G62, etc.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Pad in three storage options. The tablet sports a flat frame design and has an all-metal body. The back panel and the frame are made of aluminium. Let’s take a look at the Redmi Pad price in India, specifications, features and other details.

Redmi Pad Price in India and Specifications 

The Redmi Pad arrives in three storage options in India. The base model comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This variant is priced at Rs 14,999. The 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB variants, on the other hand, are priced at Rs 17,999 and Rs 19,999. It comes in three colour options – Graphite Grey, Mint Green and Moonlight Silver.

The Redmi Pad goes on sale starting from October 5 via, Mi Home Stores, Flipkart, etc.

As part of the launch offers, the Redmi Pad will have a starting price of Rs 12,999. The 4GB RAM variant can be bought for Rs 14,999, whereas the 6GB RAM variant can be bought for Rs 16,999 customers can get a 10 per cent discount via bank cards on

The Redmi tab sports a 10.61-inch IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has fairly thin bezels around it and comes with the front camera on the right side. It also has a 15:9 aspect ratio and 400 nits of peak brightness. It offers a 2000 x 1200 WXUGA+ resolution.

The tablet is 7.05mm thick and weighs about 465 grams. It does not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is an 8000mAh battery under the hood. The tablet supports 18W fast charging but users will get a 22.5W charging brick in the box.

There is a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC powering the budget tablet. It is the first tablet in India to feature the new 6nm chipset. Redmi has also promised two major Android updates and three years of security patches support for its tablet, which runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box.

The tablet has an 8MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera with support for document scanning. It offers a quad-speaker setup and supports Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 5 and storage expansion up to 1TB. What are your thoughts on the Redmi Pad? Let us know in the comments below.
