Xiaomi‘s Redmi is expected to foray into the tablet segment with the Redmi Pad. The existence of the upcoming Redmi tablet has been known for a while now. The Redmi Pad is said to make its global debut alongside the Xiaomi 12T series in October. However, ahead of the rumoured launch, Xiaomi Kuwait, in an official social media post (now deleted), has revealed the design and the price of the Redmi Pad.
The teaser posted by Xiaomi Kuwait reads,
Stay connected with your friends and family using video calls on Redmi Pad, which boasts the highest quality video and audio
This suggests that the Redmi Pad might come with a quad-speaker setup and will mostly focus on providing a great media consumption experience. The teaser posted by the company reveals that the Redmi Pad will come in a Mint Green colour option, similar to the recently launched Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4. We can expect the company to launch the Redmi Pad in other colour options as well.
Xiaomi also revealed the pricing of the upcoming Redmi Pad. Going by the post, the Redmi Pad will cost 71.9 Kuwaiti Dinars which translates to about Rs 18,800. Based on this, it appears that the Redmi Pad will be the cheapest tablet launched in recent times by Xiaomi.
The teaser image also reveals that the Redmi Pad will come with a flat edge design. The back panel of the device will house the rectangular camera module on the top left corner which will accommodate the rear camera. Apart from it, the company has not revealed anything about the upcoming Redmi Pad. However, last month, the Redmi Pad with a 7,800mAh battery unit was spotted on the FCC certification website. Also, the certification listing for the upcoming tablet revealed that it will boot MIUI 13 out of the box.
