Whirlpool has launched a new range of refrigerators called "Kalakriti," featuring glass door designs inspired by Indian art, textiles and traditional motifs. The company says this new collection aims to blend cultural heritage with modern appliance design, catering to Indian consumers who value both tradition and contemporary aesthetics.
The Kalakriti series introduces two design variants, Swarna and Karigari. According to Whirlpool, the Swarna design takes inspiration from handcrafted gold jewellery and artefacts typically associated with Indian festivals and special occasions. The Karigari variant, on the other hand, is said to draw from the intricate hand embroidery found on traditional Indian textiles.
The range includes both Frost-Free and Direct Cool models. The Frost-Free variants are available in 235-litre and 259-litre capacities, while the Direct Cool options come in 192-litre and 207-litre sizes. Prices for the Kalakriti series start at Rs 19,080. The collection will be available through leading retail outlets and online platforms.
Whirlpool stated that the Kalakriti range is part of its wider effort to bring culturally relevant design elements into everyday home appliances. The models are manufactured at the company's facilities in Faridabad, Pondicherry and Pune.
