Reliance Jio joins the current price hike wagon in India alongside the other leading telecom companies like Vodafone Idea and Airtel that have already announced their respective latest prepaid recharge tariff plans. The company is going to announce its new All-in-one recharge plans which will be up to 40 percent higher than the existing plans. The upcoming Reliance Jio prepaid plans will come into effect from December 6. That said, unlike the other two telcos that we have mentioned, Reliance Jio has so far not disclosed the upcoming plans.

Through a press release, Reliance Jio revealed that the upcoming prepaid plans will indeed be up to 40 percent higher, but they would come with up to 300 percent more benefits. The company claims that its first and foremost priority would also be to provide its users with the best possible services while considering the current condition of the Indian telecommunications industry as well. As per the telecom giant, it is dedicated to “benefit Indian consumers and take measures including [an] appropriate increase in tariffs in a manner that does not adversely impact data consumption or growth in digital adoption and sustains investments”

The company has, in fact, been trying its best to live up to the customers’ expectations for the past couple of months. We got to see a bunch of all-in-one prepaid plans getting launched by the company a little while ago in order to make up for the charges the company levied on its customers for making phone calls to non-Jio numbers.

Just for a reference, the company introduced 4 new monthly packages a little while ago, namely:

  • INR 75 plan – 100MB daily data, 500 minutes of calling on other networks, and 50 text messages
  • INR 125 plan – 500MB daily data, 500 minutes of calling on other networks, and 100 text messages
  • INR 155 plan – 1GB daily data, 500 minutes of calling on other networks, and 100 text messages
  • INR 185 plan – 2GB daily data, 500 minutes of calling on other networks, and 100 text messages

So, it only makes sense to believe the company’s statement that it would try to find the best out of the worst solution for its customers.

As of now, the company has not revealed the new recharge plans, but since December 6 is not too far from now, we won’t have to wait for too long in order to get intel on the same.

Meanwhile, the updated Vodafone Idea plans will come into effect from December 3 and are priced between INR 149 and INR 2,399. Airtel has also revealed its plans which are also going to begin from December 3. They will be priced between INR 19 and INR 1,699.
