
Reliance Jio has announced the launch of its 5G service in Shimla today. In addition to Shimla, the company’s 5G services were also launched today in Hamirpur, Nadaun and Bilaspur in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, the telco also announced the launch of its 5G services in 17 more cities today. The company’s 5G services are now available in Chhindwara, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar (Madhya Pradesh), Akola, Parbhani (Maharashtra), Bathinda, Khanna, Mandi Gobindgarh (Punjab), and some more cities in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. With the recent 5G launch, the company’s 5G service is now available in 257 cities in India.
List Of Cities Where Jio 5G Service Will Be Available From Today:
- Ankleshwar, Savarkundla (Gujarat)
- Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Nadaun, Shimla (Himachal Pradesh)
- Chhindwara, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar (Madhya Pradesh)
- Akola, Parbhani (Maharashtra)
- Bathinda, Khanna, Mandi Gobindgarh (Punjab)
- Bhilwara, Sri Ganganagar, Sikar (Rajasthan)
- Haldwani-Kathgodam, Rishikesh, Rudrapur (Uttarakhand)
Jio users living in the above-mentioned cities will be invited to Jio Welcome offer. As a part of the Jio Welcome offer, user will be able to experience 1Gbps+ speed at no additional cost. However, do note that in order to use 5G on your compatible 5G device, you will need to have a prepaid plan of Rs 239 or higher. If you don’t have a 5G plan of Rs 239 or above, you can still use 5G on your compatible 5G handset by making a recharge of Rs 61. The plan has the same validity as your existing plan and it offers 6GB of data. However, once the 6GB of data is consumed, the speed will be reduced to 64Kbps.
Prior to the launch of the 5G in 17 cities today, Reliance Jio had launched its 5G service in some cities across Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Before that, the telco also announced the launch of its 5G services in Bhimavaram, Guntakal, Tenali, Nalco, Ajmer, and Mahabubnagar.

The company also announced the largest-ever launch of its 5G service in 50 cities last month. The telco had rolled out its 5G service in Rajnandgaon, Kolhapur, Narasaraopet, Sangli, Bilaspur, Panaji, Ambala, Nagaon, Korba, Hassan, and Mandya. At the beginning of the year, Reliance also rolled out its 5G services in cities such as Dehradun, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ludhiana, and Siliguri. The company also plans to cover the entire nation with its 5G service by the end of 2023.
Meanwhile, Airtel is also expanding the rollout of its 5G service in new cities day by day. A few days back, the company introduced its 5G service in four cities of Himachal Pradesh such as Dharamshala, Mandi, and Baddi. The telco already has its 5G service active in Shimla.
