Reliance JioBook With MediaTek MT8788 SoC, 2GB RAM Spotted on Geekbench, Launch Imminent

We are aware of the fact that Jio is prepping up for the launch of the JioBook laptop. The JioBook specifications were tipped previously by XDA Developers report back in March. Additionally, in September three JioBook variants received the required BIS certification. The JioBook variants which were spotted at BIS certification carried model numbers: NB1118QMW, NB1148QMW, and NB1112MM. Now, in a recent development, one of the JioBook variant with model number NB1112MM has appeared on Geekbench. The Geekbench listing details the specifications of the JioBook ahead of launch.

JioBook (NB1112MM) Specifications Revealed

According to the preliminary Geekbench test result, the JioBook laptop (NB1112MM) will come powered by a MediaTek MT8788 processor, which will be coupled with 2GB of RAM. The past leak suggests that the JioBook will run Jio’s custom JioOS based on Android. In the Geekbench listing, we can see that the laptop is listed running Android 11. The JioBook has managed to score 1,178 and 4,246 points in the single-core and multi-core tests respectively at Geekbench.

If we consider the past leaks, one of the JioBook model is tipped to feature a 1366×768 pixels resolution display. The display size of the upcoming laptop isn’t known as of now. Under the hood, one of the JioBook model is tipped to pack Snapdragon 665 processor, which could be coupled with a Snapdragon X12 4G modem. One of the JioBook model is said to pack 2GB of LPDDR4x RAM as well as 32GB of eMMC storage, while on the other hand, one variant could come with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.

As far as the rest of the details about this upcoming laptop go, it is expected to have a HDMI connector, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE connectivity support. The JioBook is also supposed to ship with Jio applications such as JioStore, JioMeet, and JioPages. Apart from the proprietary Jio applications, the laptop is also said to include preinstalled Microsoft applications such as Microsoft Teams, Edge, and Office.

The launch date and the pricing of this upcoming laptop remain unknown currently. However, now that the laptop has already cleared BIS certification and has started appearing on the benchmark platform, its launch could be nearer.
