S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Delay

The release date of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 has now been pushed back from 28 April 2022 to December 8, 2022. Developer and publisher GSC Game World stated that the 7 additional months of development are critical to fulfil the studio’s vision of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2  and achieve the desired state of the game.

While it is a bit disappointing to learn that it might be a while before we can play GSC‘s next big project, the additional time in development can only mean good things for the game. According to GSC, the game is the biggest project in the history of the company, and thus, requires thorough testing and polishing.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 is among the most highly-anticipated games of the year and it’s no surprise that the studio will ideally want the game to be as finely-tuned and polished as possible.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 Release Pushed Back to December 2022

This would also mean we’ll get to see more of S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 as we near the December release date. So far, from what we’ve seen, the game looks like an incredibly ambitious project from GSC and expand the scope of the franchise far beyond the previous game.

One of the biggest stories surrounding S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 has been the reports of the game taking up as much as 180 GB of storage. While this could simply be a storage requirement stated after compensating for planned updates and DLC, it is still a pretty massive number.

With the price of SSDs not being nearly as affordable as Hard Drives of the same storage space, it does appear that gaming is only about to get more expensive. The game is set to come out on PC and the Xbox Series X/S on December 8 2022. The game will be available on Day One on the Xbox Game Pass.
