Samsung Foldable Phone (Galaxy F) Could Feature 512GB Storage, Dual SIM and Silver Color

The first foldable smartphone from Samsung is going to be revealed tomorrow at the Samsung Developer Conference.

Samsung Foldable Phone Display Specifications Confirmed, Announcement Expected on Nov 7

Samsung is hosting a Developers Conference tomorrow in San Francisco, California. At this conference, Samsung is expected to announce the much rumored Galaxy Foldable smartphone. We have been hearing a lot of rumors and reports about this device. The phone is said to have an inwards-foldable design, with two displays. When folded, the device can be used as a smartphone. However, once it is unfolded, the device turns in to a tablet. The company has been working on this product from a while now, and we will finally get to see what it has come up with. Let’s hope that it isn’t as ugly as the recently announced Royole FlexPai.

Samsung Galaxy F to have 512GB Storage

Various reports and rumors are calling the new Samsung foldable smartphone as the Galaxy F. There could be a whole new series of foldable smartphones from the company under the same moniker. Now, a latest report from SamMobile gives out some more details about the upcoming device. Information such as internal storage, device color, and chipset, have been revealed.

It is said that the Galaxy F smartphone will feature a Snapdragon 8150 chipset by Qualcomm. This will be the first smartphone in the world to include this chipset. The device is also said to come with up to 512GB internal storage. A microSD card slot is said to be available to expand storage. The report also states that the device will come in a Silver color option. The frame and the rear metal body of the device will be silver in color. Other hardware details such as RAM, battery, and cameras, are not known yet. There have been reports that claimed the smartphone to have a battery with capacity between 3000 and 6000mAh. Again, this isn’t confirmed yet.

Apart from that, a recent report out of Korea stated that the two displays on the foldable smartphone will be 7.3-inch and 4.6-inch in size. When folded, the display will be 4.6-inches, which is smaller than current smartphones. However, the full tablet mode will boast a large 7.3-inch display. All of this is just reports and rumors, so take it with a grain of salt.

The one thing we know for sure, is that Samsung is definitely revealing a foldable smartphone at the conference tomorrow. The South Korean giant changed its Twitter profile image to a folded Samsung logo, hinting at this. This is the most interesting teaser we’ve received from the company so far. Samsung has also revealed that it will be showcasing a new UI for foldable displays. So that’s something to look forward to, apart from the device itself. The Samsung foldable smartphone will not be available until CES 2019 though.

Other Foldable Smartphones

Samsung isn’t the only company that is working on bringing foldable smartphones to the market. Other OEMs such as Huawei and Xiaomi are also aiming to release foldable devices in the new future. The race to be first is on, but unfortunately, an American start-up has already won the race. Although its device is pretty ugly, the Royole FlexPai is the first smartphone to come with a foldable display. This device features a single 7.8-inch AMOLED display which is flexible. It doesn’t have two displays though, which is why the design is ugly. We will have to wait till tomorrow to see what Samsung has in store for us.
